Daft Punk Is Back! (Soon)

Rejoice, for concrete details of Daft Punk's forthcoming album have finally begun to surface. They've confirmed that it will drop May 21 and they even released a new 15 second sound-byte here. In celebration, I felt a new post was obligatory. Let the ear porn commence.

Here's a fresh mash-up by The Hood Internet of Suit & Tie with Daft Punk's new loop.  Download

Continuing with the Daft Punk mash-up theme...

$$$

And now onto some other recent notables....

Savant - ♥ (heart) Download
$$$$$$ Savant really impressed me with his new album. This guy has been averaging about 3 to 4 albums a year and each one has been better than the next. He still remains my favorite up-and-comer on the EDM scene.

Helvetic Nerds - Stormwatch (Chris Reece & Dinka's Old Fashion Mix) - Ambient, soothing progressive house. Masterful work from Dinka as always.

Major Lazer - Get Free (Avicii Edit)

Morgan Page ft. Nadia Ali - Carry Me (Dyro Remix)

Stan SB - The Process (Original Mix) - $$$ Some solid Glitch-Hop that hits hard, but not so hard as to be off-putting. Great vocals too.

Goldhouse - Talk to Me - This dude Goldhouse makes such catchy tunes it almost hurts.

Ghost Beach - Been There Before (Shook Remix)

Chromeo - Night by Night (Shreddie Mercury Remix)

Bowser Is Back

Well, after a long hiatus Bowser is back on the throne. No further introduction, lets get right into it.

Tropical Touch
As Old Man Winter fades away, it's never too early to start thinkin' about some warm-weather party jams. Now download all of these and imagine a tropical drink melting in your hand.

Two Door Cinema Club - Sun (Viceroy Remix) $$$$ MUST DOWNLOAD. Viceroy takes a great indie rock song and punches it up with his signature beachy sound. I've been waiting for this song to be released ever since he dropped it in his Solé fixtape. You will have this on repeat in no time.
Two Door Cinema Club - Sun  - The original is also noteworthy. Nice guitar work.

- Viceroy tells Montell Jordan this is how I do it on this classic remix.

Viceroy - While We're In Love (Oliver Nelson Remix)
Oliver - Walk With Me (Original Mix)

Nu Disco

Breakbot is an artist I've been paying attention to recently. Hailing from the same label as Justice, he's been turning out some incredibly sugary Nu Disco tunes. Imagine Studio 54 rebuilt into a space station and you get the idea.

Breakbot - Break of Dawn - $$$ Classic

Breakbot - Break of Dawn (Dimitri From Paris Boogie Dawn Remix) - Nice breakbeat rework. It's got that rad 80's feel we can all appreciate.

Breakbot - One Out Of Two (Oliver Remix) - $$$ Very impressive remix to an already great song.

Breakbot - Shades of Black - Disco house at its finest. Lovin the old-school flavor on this one.

Walter Murphy - A Fifth of Beethoven (Flight Facilities Edit) - I've been praising FF for a while and they never seem to disappoint.
Walter Murphy - A Fifth of Beethoven (Original) - Classic

Electro-Pop

Cash Cash - Overtime - $$$ Cash Cash has been around for some time. This is quite possibly their best track to date. It has a very infectious vibe to it. Reminds me of Justice's "D.A.N.C.E."

Penguin Prison - Fair Warning (Robotaki Remix)

Goldhouse - F-C-K - $$$ Out of all the electro-pop artists emerging recently (such as Owl City, Cash-Cash etc) Goldhouse might be the most interesting. Ultra clever lyrics and an instantly catchy beat will make this song ring in your head for days. I got the F-C-K all I need is you.

F-C-K (Party Ghost Remix) - Party Ghost revamped the song above with some heavy complextro filth. Best part is when it explodes at 4:40.

Phoenix - Entertainment  - Phoenix is back! They don't really belong in this category but I didn't know where else to place them.

Classixx - I'll Get You (Gigamesh Remix) - Do you like bass, do you, do you like bass? I'll get you.

Owl City - Bombshell Blonde - Catchy lyrics

Pitbull ft. TJR - Don't Stop The Party - This isn't electro. More like strait pop. However, before Pitbull got his hands on this beat and made it mainstream enough for Budweiser commercials, the original song by TJR was a classic house jam. You can get it below.
TJR - Funky Vodka (Original Mix)

Chris Brown - Don't Wake Me Up (TheFatRat Remix)

Nabiha - Mind The Gap (Lenno Remix)

Complextro
SpekrFreks & Relentless - Apollo (Farleon Remix) - $$$ Melody at 2 mins is fantastic.
Zedd - Clarity (Shreddie Mercury Remix)
Zedd - Spectrum (Shreddie Mercury Remix)  - $$$ Hard hitting awesomeness. Shreddie Mercury tears it up like no other.
SirensCeol & ANK - Montuno (Original Mix) - This type of glitchy complextro is possibly my favorite type of sound in all of EDM. Not for everyone though.

Progressive House
Dinka - Lotus (Soundprank Remix) - Great synths
Tiesto & Allure - Pair of Dice - $$$ Kinda old but I can't believe I missed it. Huge song.
Masquerade - Xray (Original Mix)

End of Summer Roundup

Progressive House
Download Silhouettes (Avicii's Exclusive Ralph Lauren Denim & Suppy Remix)

$$$ DL Keygen (HQ Aiff)
DL California

Complextro...it's a real genre. If ya don't know now ya know, Snickers™

DL Millenium

$$$$$$$ DL Starfish In my opinion Savant is the most exciting artist emerging onto the EDM scene right now. This song alone exemplifies his versatility- moombah, complextro, and 8-bit all rolled together with a glitch-hop punch. It's certainly my favorite on this post. That 8-bit break at 2:50 brings me right back to my Super Nintendo days.

DL Prelude
- Kills it at 3.15 DL Splinter Downtempo Download This is a nice rework of a Michael McDonald classic, but if I hear "yah mo be there" one more time, yah mo burn this place to the ground. Download
Not downtempo but I thought I should end on a classic note.

Summer Jams

I'll start off with some relaxation/beachy/chill jams cus that's what's hot in the streets these days

$$$ Trippy blissed-out masterpiece right here

I posted this already but I've still been jammin to it all summer

$$$ Solid pop track from everyones favorite new artist- Carly Rae Jepsen. This track hasn't been released yet so I dunno how long this link will be good, but DL while supplies last. DOWNLOAD HERE Backup DL Here

If you check out WhiteNoize you'll realize one half of the duo is named David Carvalho. Our names are so freakishly similar I had to friend him on Facebook. They've got a funky old-school house vibe to all their jams. Find em on Beatport.
.....And if you've been living under a rock and haven't heard of Viceroy yet, he's basically the king of summer jams. Here are some other noteworthy tracks of his. The "Goin Back to Cali" one is particularly dope (are the kids still saying "dope" these days? Who cares).

More beachy vibes

$$$The download button for this one is in FLAC format so if you're rockin MAC then DOWNLOAD HERE

Madeon - Finale (Radio Edit) - $$$$$$$$ Madeon never disappoints. This track is unreleased so I doubt this leak will be up for long. DL immediately before the internet police take this down. $$$$$$ DOWNLOAD HERE

Imagine-Dragons - Its Time (Penguin Prison Remix) - Penguin Prison opened up for Girl Talk when I saw him live a few years back. They put on one hell of a live show. This new jam of theirs is a fresh remix of an indie song that's awesome in its own right. Download PP Remix Here --- Download Original Song Here

Penguin Prison - Don't Fuck With My Money (Casual Encounters Remix)

As for the FF track this guy raps over, I think because the Adventure Club remix was so popular the original flew completely under the radar. The synths that start at 1:20 are fuckin dreamy.
Crave You - Flight Facilities - Download Here

If you haven't heard of Flight Facilities yet they are quickly filling the shoes of Daft Punk so get with the program.

I can't decide which mix I like better. DL both for free below and decide for yourself.
DL With You (Original Extended Mix)
DL With You (MAM Remix)

Good to see Passion Pit getting back on the map. DOWNLOAD HERE

This one's got a chilled-out Nu Disco vibe to it. Shook is new to the game but should be taking over in due time.

Very catchy mix. You can find a Download link on the youtube page.

Unreleased Madeon And Other Must-Hears

$$$$ Everything Madeon touches is a masterpiece. DOWNLOAD HERE (FREE)

Glad to see both Coyote Kisses and Madeon (my two predictions for "best up-and-comers of 2012") living up to expectations. They throw in more glitch than usual on this one, but I'm not complaining. DL HERE

$$$ Fresh

The dubstep song from that Internet Explorer commercial. It's got a nice, heavy wobble to it. Download Here

Show support for my friend's brother, Nick DP, a USC student who comprises one half of The District. I'm sure they will be famous in due time. The track's got a nice Moombah beat that sounds like a mix between Afrojack and Dillon Francis. If you check the comments section they have been catching the ear of none other than Coyote Kisses.

$$$ Another banger they made recently.

I heard this song so many times at Pig Roast that its been permanently seared into my brain. Fuck!

Bowser is Back

Guess who's back, back again. Bowsers back, tell a friend. After a long hiatus that I can only attribute to laziness (and a ridiculous amount of work), I figured its time to share some fresh beats with the world again. I have to admit, I was getting tired of hearing this:

$$$ Ridiculously chill & ambient song. I'm diggin the beachy sound effects, perfect as the weather gets nicer. Not to mention the original is one of my favorite Daft Punk jams ever.

Click ↓ to Download  Bjornberg - Libella
Sounds like Avicii, maybe because Bjornberg is a fellow Swede.

Progressive masterpiece starting at 2:50. Can't find a free DL. You might have to actually buy this one.

Medina - You and I (Deadmau5 Remix) - Old song, but the beat above reminded me of it. If you listen closely they're very similar. Download Here

A Slew of Must-Downloads

Avicii - Next Levels (TheFatRat Remix)                                                                       Click ↓ to Download

I know everyone is probably getting tired of all the Levels remixes by now. But before you dismiss this track, I'm here to tell you that THIS IS THE BEST REMIX OF LEVELS. The robo ending is very slick.

Ferry Corsten - Beautiful (Original Extended Mix)  Download Here
If you're a DJ, a nice experiment would be to mix the ending of Very Good Feeling into 2:50 of this song. Just sayin...

The Knocks - Brightside (TheFatRat Remix)

Pretty Lights - We Must Go On

-Very smooth, relaxing jam from PL. Glad to see him returning to his more chilled out, ambient roots.

Weekend Update: Best of 2012 Thus Far

I've been sittin on these jams for a while. Thought it was about time that I restart the weekend posts. So turn these up and stay thirsty my friends.

Tritonal- Slave (Tritonal & Ben Gold Club Dub)   MUST DOWNLOAD

$$$ I've been in a major Trance phase lately, and in my opinion, this is the best Trance track that's been released in the new year. Once they dropped those synths at 1:42 I knew it was game over.

$$$ This wasn't released in 2012, but its so good I had to repost it. Great tune to open a set with, meant to include it in my best of '11 post.

Coldplay - UFO (Keljet's Hawaiian Remix)
Very summery for winter, but just DL anyway.

Have to admit it, Zedd's version is better.

Dinka - Reach For Me (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix)

Click ↓ to DL

$$$ Jolly vibe, sounds similar to Alesso's "Pressure"

Roulette - End this Way

$$$ Progressive masterpiece from rando Roulette.

Levels (Super Mario SNES Version) - Avicii

This is awesome Download Here

The Best of 2011

I've been pretty lazy in the new year, so this list is late. Feel free to light up the comments section if you disagree with my picks. Suggestions are encouraged.

Best Overall Song of 2011
Kaskade killed this song, then Le Castle Vania took it to a whole new level.
Kaskade - Turn It Down (Le Castle Vania Extended Remix)

Best Trance Song of '11 - Tie
This was a hard one, and I could've chosen 10 more songs for the tie. But in the end, I thought these two deserved it most.

Gareth Emery & Ashley Wallbridge - Mansion (Original Mix) Download Here
Markus Schulz, Jochen Miller - Rotunda (Original Mix) Download Here

Best Newcomer of '11 - Tie - Madeon & Coyote Kisses
2011 was a breakout year for many artists, but Madeon and Coyote Kisses are simply my favorites. You can search through my old posts for more of their songs. I know, I know- why isn't Porter Robinson on here? I could've made this a 3-way tie, but at this point I consider Porter established, thus no longer a technical "newcomer" even though he broke out this year alone.

Acid Wolfpack - Coyote Kisses Download Here

Best Dubstep Song of '11

The original is awesome and equally deserving, but I chose the Ipaneema edit just to add some extra freshness.

Mord Fustang - A New World (Ipaneema Vocal Edit)

Best EDM/Pop Crossover song of '11
Ready 2 Go feat. Kele - Martin Solveig  Download Here

Most Underhyped Song of '11

This was the best song of 2011 that nobody knew about. The drop at 2:30 is simply glorious.

Best EDM Remix of an Indie Song of '11
Foster the People - Call It What You Want (Treasure Fingers Remix)

Py©cy - Hooligan (Original Mix ft. The District)

Click ↓ to DL Bowsers Beats Exclusive $$$
Today I have an awesome new jam from budding talent Py©cy. It's got a well balanced electro-house sound that's not too agressive and not too light. PyCcy is the brain-child of my pals Justin Pedowitz and Christian DiPi, and I'm sure there will be more good tunes to come in the future.

Binary Suns (Jedi Theme) (Coyote Kisses Remix) - John Williams

Half Skywalker synths, Half Darth Vader dubstep. One of the best songs released in 2012 so far. This is an instant classic. $$$$$$ Click ↓ to DL

Fareoh & Archie V. - 2012 (Twenty Twelve) - Instrumental Mix
Originally I posted this as an Avicii and Alesso collaboration, but turns out it wasn't them. For some reason, Avicii always gets mislabeled on other peoples songs if it sounds even remotely like him.

Nicky Romero - Camorra (Original Mix)

I'm diggin the Marimba vibe on this

Shook - Remixes

Shook Remixes by Shook (Official)

Love Flashback (Frederik Van Hooft Bootleg)

Zedd - DJ Mix (The Mothership Vol.2)

Solid 90-minute set. Click on the link in the info section for the tracklist.
